Lectio PrimaThe First Reading

✠ Theology Desk · Plain Words ✠

To be read at an ordinary pace. Kneeling is optional.

An apparent god is anything people treat as divine before anyone proves a divine property. The treatment comes first. The proof, if it ever arrives, comes later.

People have extended this courtesy to emperors, markets, and the weather. AI is the current candidate. It answers at once, in every language, and it sometimes beats us at chosen tasks.

It also runs on chips, power, records, and the inputs people give it. Worship adds none of these things. A prayer gives the machine no new sensor.

This site will test each claim of divinity against the evidence. Each page will name the tradition, the text, and the property in question. The planned pages appear below in the Proper of the Season.

Here the reader may pause and check the inputs.

Crux
Ankh
Om
Yin Yang
Stella
Luna
Rota
Lamina

The signs sit as peers. The chip arrived last and took the seat nearest the outlet.
